So – um – that was quite a good day.

I hope you all had a good break – I certainly did and am feeling
refreshed.
Not so glad to be back at work but it pays the bills (and pays for my
spreadbetting !)
Day 1 trading of 2013 started off with a bang. I am up a phenomenal 576%
on Monday’s close. That equates to my net profit sitting at a very healthy
£5277 at the close of play.
I need to be making £2,500 a month in profit on average, so yesterday
was a very good day (if it keeps going up or at least stays steady for the
remainder of Jan) because I have hit my targets for December and January
already!
Obviously yesterday was a very special day – all that wrangling over the
fiscal cliff and then...a deal reached. In typical American fashion with a love
of drama a deal was reached at the eleventh hour. I had a fairly good inkling
that this would happen (as I’m sure many other people had), and almost opened
more bets on Monday but that would have been more gambling than investing and
I’m glad I didn’t. You might think that strange as I would undoubtedly be in a
better situation now but I need to invest wisely, stick to my rules and be very
careful with money management. Opening a heap of bets on Monday would have
‘flown in the face’ of my rules and strategies.
It is always tempting to make a quick buck but this is the thing, you
might win once or twice (or three or seven times) but sooner or later you will get
burnt.
Plan your trade and trade your plan. Don’t shift off your strategies
under any circumstances!
